MUNROE, Ann M. (Gardner), 82, of Coventry, RI, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.  She was the beloved wife of the late MSG Harry E. Munroe, Sr.

Born in Warwick, RI, she was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas Gardner and Theresa (Leonard) Gardner-Chouinard, she had lived in Coventry most of her life.

A dedicated and loving wife, Ann was a homemaker raising her four boys.  She volunteered for various charities helping those less fortunate and was a parishioner of SS. John & Paul Church.

She is survived by three sons, Harry E. Munroe, Jr. and his late wife Joan of West Greenwich, Richard L. Munroe and his wife Donna of West Greenwich and Douglas J. Munroe and his wife Deborah of Richmond; a brother, Leonard Gardner of Warwick and a sister, Dorothea Bragdon of Woodsville, NH.  Ann was also blessed with seven grandchildren, the late SSgt. Thomas H. Oakley, Harry E. Munroe IV, Richard L. Munroe, Jr., Nicholas J. Munroe, US Army Captain Rosanne M. Horswill, Captain Douglas J. Munroe, II and Lieutenant Samuel P. Munroe as well as three great-grandchildren, Mina Oakley, Thomas H. Oakley, Jr. and Harry E. Munroe V, whom she loved dearly.  She was the mother of the late Thomas H. Munroe and sister of the late Arthur Gardner, Mary Abbot and Helen Lapham.

Her Funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in SS. John & Paul Church, Coventry.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.  Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm.
