COLLIER, Dioel “Joel” J.F., 89, of Old Mountain Rd., Richmond, RI, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Kent Hospital. He was the husband of the late Michelle M.L. (Caffiers) Collier.
Born in Coulogne, France, he was a son of the late George and Paulette (Cassez) Collier.
Joel worked in the textile industry for many years before retiring. He was an experienced dog trainer, especially for bird hunting, and he enjoyed being a judge at Field Trials in Arcadia for several years.
He leaves his loving daughter, Ingrid Ryan of North Attleboro, MA; two sisters, Claudine Ribery and Maryse Fortin; a grandson, Michael Ryan and three great-grandchildren, Haley, Brendon and Jordan Ryan. He was the grandfather of the late Michelle Deniger, great-grandfather of the late Justin Deniger and brother of the late Marcel, George and Roger Collier, Nadia Collier and Isabelle Mouchon.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather Thursday morning at 9:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, and then proceed to St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich for Committal Prayers. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St., Suite. 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
