DONALD E. JALBERT SR.

JALBERT SR., DONALD E., 82, of Daisy Lane, Coventry, passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth J. (Smith) Jalbert for 32 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph C. and Mary M. (Smith) Jalbert. 

Don was a Crew Leader with Narragansett Electric for 43 years before retiring in 1998. He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy Class of 1953 where he was a Football Letterman. Don was a Life Guard and long-time instructor for the Red Cross. Don and Betty enjoyed many winter vacations to Barbados and Summers in Maine. He was a N.E. Sports fan.  He had an indefatigable work ethic, a life-long & sustaining faith, a quiet & true love of family, and a deep loyalty to many friends.

Donald was the father of Patricia E. (Thomas) Welsh of Baltimore, MD, Mary-Anne (Paul) Campbell of Wakefield, Donald E. (Amy) Jalbert Jr. of Overland Park, KS, Donna Jalbert (Jim) Patalano of Winchester, MA, and stepfather to Kim E. (Stephen) Kay of West Kingston, and Holly A. (Robert) Riecke of Exeter. Donald was the brother of Walter M. (Suzy) Jalbert of Coventry and the late Joseph C. Jalbert Jr., and brother-in-law to Anne Jalbert.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren. He leaves behind many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

His funeral will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 9 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Mary Church, West Warwick. Interment in the Parish Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are Monday, January 1, 2018 from 2 to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kindred Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Ste. 206, Warwick, RI 02886                         ( www.kindredhealthcare.com ) will be appreciated.
