EARL F. YORK

YORK, Earl F., 78, of Old Flat River Rd., passed away unexpectedly at his at his home on Monday, January 1, 2018.  He was the beloved husband of Carolyne E. (Boeglin) York and they would have celebrated their 60^th wedding anniversary on April 26^th.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Thomas B. and Edith M. (Greenaulgh) York.

Earl served in the Air Force for 20 years and had a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969-1970.  He retired from the Air Force in 1976 and has lived in Coventry since his retirement.  He worked at Amtrol, Inc. in West Warwick for 22 years, retiring in 2001.  Earl was a long time member at The Church of St. Andrew and St. Philip and continued with the parish when it converted to an Anglican Church as The Church of the Apostles at 170 Fairview Avenue in Coventry.  Earl was a life member of the 9404 V.F.W. Post on Main Street, Coventry.

Earl was an ardent bowler and golfer.  He enjoyed being a team member and cherished the lasting friendships he made on both teams.  He also loved living in the country and all that came with it.  He was great at fixing things and coming up with ideas that would make life easier for us.  He tinkered with cars, bicycles and golf carts.

Besides his wife, he leaves his loving children, Karen W. Sheldon of Greene, Kimberly W. Santilli and her husband Steven of Coventry and Kyle E. York and his wife Louise of Peachtree City, GA; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of the late Donald York, Lillian Maciel, Grace Trottier and Norma Geranis.

His Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:00 am in the Church of the Apostle, Coventry.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Goff Historical Cemetery, on the York property at 135 Old Flat River Road, Coventry.  Visitation will be held Sunday from 4-8 pm in the Church of the Apostles.  In lieu of Flowers, donations in Earl’s name to the Church of the Apostle Memorial Fund, 170 Fairview Ave., Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated.
