MARY MARTHA (LOVETTE) BAKER

 BAKER, MARY MARTHA, (LOVETTE) 85, of Warwick and formerly of Coventry, passed on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Greenwood Center in Warwick. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred P. Baker Sr. in 2004. Born in Randolph County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Charles R. and Mary M. (King) Lovette.

Mary was employed as an Executive Secretary at Ocean State Medical Insurance, Astro-Med and Tectra all totaling 20 years before retiring in 1990.

Mary was a sports fan of Professional Tennis, NCAA Basketball and College Football.

She was the mother of Pastor G. Christopher Baker and his wife Nancy of Coventry, Reverend R. Kyle Baker and his wife Barbara of West Warwick, and Alfred P. Baker Jr. and his wife Ann of Wakefield, and the late LuAnn Baker.

Mary was the grandmother of Tara A. Devany, Crystal L. Martin, Christina L. Gibson, Cassie R. Gooding, Jenna M. Baker, Amber L. Baker, Jordan L. Baker, Jason Pereira and Crissy Pereira. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. Mary was the sister of Kathleen Baggett and Shirley Pence, both of North Carolina and the late Clara Brooks, Mabel Spencer, and Annie Earnhardt.

At Mary’s request, her Funeral Services and Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter were private. Memorial donations to the International Baptist Church of Providence, C/O Knotty Oak Baptist Church, 11 Knotty Oak Rd., Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated. Arrangements are with the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, Coventry.
