RICHARD D. JACQUES

JACQUES, RICHARD D., 78, of Main St., Coventry, passed at Kent Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Friday, January 26, 2018. He was the husband of Mildred M. “Millie” (Moone) Jacques for 49 years. He was a son of the late Adelard H. and Mary E. (Raymond) Jacques.

Richard graduated from West Warwick High School in 1959. He was a US Navy veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962. Richard was a store manager at the former Valueland, Big G, and Great Scott Supermarkets for 35 years. Most recently, he was a store supervisor for Cumberland Farms before retiring in 2014. Richard enjoyed working in his yard, traveling, trips to Foxwoods Casino, and the companionship of his cat Zoe.

He was the father of Jacqueline M. (Joseph) Ricci of Bristol, Matthew R. (Rosemarie) Jacques of West Warwick, and Jason E. (Lisa) Jacques of Coventry. He was the grandfather of Chelsea Jacques, Matthew, Andrew Jacques, and Lea and Joseph Ricci. Richard was the brother of Raymond Jacques of South Kingstown, Maryann Cunha of FL, and Kenneth Jacques of CA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 10 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Interment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Heart Association ( www.heart.org ) or the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org )will be appreciated.
