PARE, STASIA F. (WOJCIK) 82, of Marshall Circle, Coventry, passed at Kent Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 12, 2018. She was the wife of Alfred F. “Peter” Pare for 62 years. Born in Coventry, she was a daughter of the late Victor J. and Sadie (Szarek) Wojcik.
Stasia was employed as an office manager for Suburban Propane in Coventry for 36 years before retiring. Stasia was vice-president of Pare’s Service Center Inc. in West Warwick, a family business established in 1947. She was a graduate of Coventry High School in 1953 and a member of the RI Honor Society, achieving this distinction throughout four years of High School.
Stasia and Peter enjoyed many years of travelling, especially cruises, and day trips to the Casinos. Stasia was an accomplished knitter, creating many afghans for her family and friends.
Stasia was the mother of Lynn M. McCarthy and her husband Joseph, of Rochester, NY, Francine A. Pare-Iarossi of West Warwick, and Douglas J. Pare of Scituate. She was the grandmother of Sean (Amanda) Mari, Michael (Alyssa) Iarossi II, Craig Mari, Patrick (Devan) Iarossi, Meghan Clark, Jenna (Greg) Quinn, and Jacob Iarossi. Stasia was the sister of Mary A. Petrarca, and the late Victor Wojcik and Edwina Butkins. Stasia is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours are Thursday 4 – 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society ( www.cancer.org ) or VNA of Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Ln, Warwick, RI 02886 will be appreciated.
