GEORGE COFFUA Obituary

George Anthony Coffua, 60, of Charlestown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of ten years to Danette F. (Belanger) Coffua.

Born in Yokosuka, Japan on December 26, 1963, George was the loving son of the late Charles and Carmella (Morganelli) Coffua.

George was raised in West Warwick and was a graduate of West Warwick High School. Shortly after graduation, George enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country.

George was a ‘foodie’ and enjoyed dining out. He was also an avid card player, golfer, motorcycle enthusiast, and lover of French bulldogs. George’s passions brought him great joy and fostered many friendships. He was particularly known for his ability to tell a story and share a laugh, often being the center of attention in any gathering. He enjoyed working in the yard and spending treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who will miss his playful spirit and the special moments they shared.

George’s legacy is not only in the love he shared but also in the lives he touched with his generosity and charisma. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his stories and spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, George is survived by three children: Mark Chase, his wife Kathryn of NJ, Anne Howell of Warwick and Sharon Cross, her husband David of NJ. He was the brother of Joseph Coffua of Stewart, FL, Elizabeth Robert, her husband, Michael of AZ, three cherished grandchildren: Hadley, Lilly and Benjamin; his mother-in law: AnnMarie Izzi of Warwick and her late husband, Joseph; a sister-in-law: Holly Belanger of CT and his beloved cousin, Christopher Coffua, his wife Melinda of Coventry.
