ALEC W. SYMINGTON

SYMINGTON, Alec W., 61, of West Warwick R.I., passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at home.  The son of the late James Symington and Nancy Crockett Symington, he was the beloved husband of Lisa Gebler.

Born Dec. 21, 1956, in Manchester, Conn., he was operational excellence manager for Medtronic in Mansfield, Mass., for more than 10 years, traveling internationally, and was a “master black belt” in quality assurance. A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a medic in the early 1970s.

He had a great affection for learning and earned a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry at the University of Southern Maine, in Portland, Maine, and continued his education throughout his life.

He enjoyed travel and loved golf, sailing and biking and had a gourmand’s taste for fine wine and food.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his brothers, James Symington of New Ipswich, N.H., Andrew Symington of Keene, N.H., Robert Symington of Spofford, N.H.; and sisters Janet Brunell of West Swanzey, N.H. and Nancy Symington of Portland, Maine.  He loved and enjoyed the time spent with his nieces and nephews and his beautiful cat Coquette.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Alec’s name to the East Greenwich Animal Protection Leaugue (EGAPL.com) would be appreciated.
