Alexandra Nicole Powers, 23 of Coventry, passed away at home and entered eternal peace December 24, 2019 surrounded by family after a 7 year battle with brain cancer.
She was the daughter of Valentina L. (Tina Silva) Powers of Coventry and Robert G. Powers Jr. of West Warwick. She was the sister of Mackenzie L. Powers, also of Coventry. She was also predeceased by her sister Stephanie Powers. She was surrounded by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She greatly cherished the army of people that surrounded her during her fight.
Alex was a Coventry High School graduate, class of 2014. She volunteered and rode at Yellow Horse, an Equine program for families and children with disabilities. Besides that, she loved to play softball, soccer, and to watch the Patriots win. Alex loved to cook, spend time at the beach, and loved to spend time with friends.
Alex was under the extraordinary care of the Tomorrow Fund, Pediatric Palliative Care, and Hope Street Hospice Care, all of Providence and Hasbro Children’s Hospital. This is where she spent multiple days during and in between treatments, surrounded by top notch doctors who treated her as nothing less than family. Our family would like to extend all of the love and care they have provided for us all during these many years, as well as West Greenwich Fire Department and Kent Hospital for all their support.
Above all, Alex treasured her friends and family and will be missed incredibly by many. They are remembering her as full of life, energetic, loud, and a loving person especially of her cat Marley.
All relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 10:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, December 29, 2019 between 4:00 and 7:00 pm.
Donations to the Tomorrow Fund, 593 Eddy St, Providence RI 02903 in Alex’s name would be greatly appreciated.
