MORIN, ALMA L. (CLAYS) 93, formerly of Coventry, passed away at home in Scituate on Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest W. Morin Jr. in 1991.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late August and Marguerite (Whalen) Clays.
Alma was employed as an administrative assistant with the Coventry School System for 20 years before retiring in 1990. Alma and her late husband Ernest, were snowbirds enjoying many winters in Bradenton, Florida. Alma also enjoyed playing cards and dancing.
She was the mother of Patricia L. Abbruzzese (Robert), Steven J. Morin (Betty), Kathleen M. Beaulieu (Andrew), all of West Warwick, Lynn F. Flynn (Timothy) of Coventry, Lisa A. Round (Gerald) of Scituate, and the late Michael D. Morin. Alma was the mother-in-law of the late Gloria Morin and Michael Langlois; and the grandmother of the late Adam Beaulieu. Alma was the sister of Robert Clays and the late Richard Clays, Gloria Hughes, Patricia Siner, Judith Clays and Marguerite Poirier. Alma is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday 4 pm - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ( www.stjude.org) would be appreciated.
