ANGELINA MARY (Tavares) MESSIER

MESSIER, Angelina Mary (Tavares), 93, formerly of The Wildberry Apts. on Earl St., West Warwick, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Messier.
A resident of West Warwick all her life, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Sousa) Tavares.
Angelina worked as a lace puller for 20 years at Hope Valley and Linwood Lace before retiring in 1982.
She had a generous, sweet loving heart that touched many lives with her presence and bright smile. She extremely enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be sorely missed by everyone.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Messier Jr. and his wife Marie of Smyrna, Delaware, Robert Messier, David Messier and Michael Messier and his wife Michelle, all of West Warwick and Rosemary Webb of Coventry; a brother, Joseph Tavares of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Leonard and Mary Raposo, both of West Warwick; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was the mother of the late Raymond Messier and great-grandmother of the late Angelina Rose Cox.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry. Her Funeral and Burial will be private for the family.
