ZALOUDEK, CARROLL “BRUCE”, 85, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Kent Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Henriette “Hariet” (Hebert) Zaloudek, for the last 65 years. Born in Enid, Oklahoma to Carroll F. and Georgia Violet (Secrist) Zaloudek.
Bruce was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean War as a member of the Seabees. He had many occupations, however, his favorite was as a Coventry Building Official, a position he held for 21 years, before his retirement in 2013. He was the past treasurer and member of the RI Building Official Association and a past president and lifelong member of Club Jogues in Coventry.
Besides his wife Hariet, he is survived by four children, Karen and Mark Hart of St. Augustine, FL, Julie Kingsley of St. Augustine, FL, Mark and Linda Zaloudek of Waltham, MA and Cathy and Michael Garand of Jamestown, RI., a brother Bernie Zaloudek of Coventry and a sister Linda Bollom of Brownwood, TX, seven grandchildren, John (Angie) Labutti, Steven and Megan Zaloudek, Kyle and Katelyn Garand and Justin and Cole Anderson, one great grandchild Carson E. Bruce Anderson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his sister Barbara Baade.
His funeral will be Monday, September 9, 2019 at 10:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St Vincent de Paul St., Coventry. Interment, to follow, at Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, 2:00 to 5:00 pm.
