CROWE, David, 72, of Knotty Oak Rd., passed away at home on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was the beloved husband of 48 years to Julia M. (Ozarkiw) Crowe.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Russell and Almyra (Moore) Crowe.
David served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army’s 5th Battalion 7th Cavalry. After coming home, he took some classes at Roger Williams College and started working as a draftsman. Ultimately he joined the West Warwick U.S. Postal Service and then retired after 25+ years.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, quahogging, working on his vegetable garden, listening to jazz and being an active couch potato. David spent many a Sunday afternoon as an enthusiastic Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Randy Crowe and his fiancé Melanie DeMello of Cranston and Jay Crowe and his fiancé Cassandra Petty of Warwick. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Richard and his two brothers Richard Crowe and Russell Crowe. He was the proud Grandpa to five grandsons: Zackary, Jeremiah, Aidan, Gavin and Caleb.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 12:45 pm in front of the Administration Buildings at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery in Exeter for David’s Committal Prayers and Military Honors at 1:00 pm in the Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675-8517 would be appreciated.
