ELIZABETH PETRARCA

PETRARCA, ELIZABETH (PADULA), 88, of Mello St., passed away unexpectedly at Kent Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 24, 2018. She was the beloved wife of 66 years to the late Guido J. Petrarca. 

Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Maria (Petrarca) Padula. 

Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking, the holiday season, and parties spent with extended family and friends. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as “Grandma Ice Cream”.

She leaves behind her children, Steven Petrarca and his wife Joyce of Palm Springs, FL, Peter Petrarca of West Warwick, Joseph Petrarca and his wife Jackie of Warwick, and Carol Vescera and her husband Frank of West Warwick; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Stella Pontarelli, Anthony Padula, Grace Ambessi, Marion Petrarca, Lucy Vitalo-Ciolli, John Padula, and Anna Coppa. She was the grandmother of the late Frank Vescera Jr. 

Her Funeral will be Saturday, December 29, 2018, at 8:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, West Warwick. Interment will follow in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Friday 4 - 7 pm.
