FREDERICK CLARK "FRED" GOODWIN, JR.

GOODWIN JR., FREDERICK C. “FRED” 62, of Providence, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019 at the Hope Health Hospice Center. Born in Medford, MA, he was a son of Frederick C. Goodwin Sr. of Reading, MA and the late Miriam (Barsamian) Goodwin. 

Fred, a successful restaurateur, was the owner and general manager of Bravo Bistro in Providence since 2008. He previously managed the former Barsider’s Mile and a Quarter restaurants for over 35 years.  It was a known fact that Fred considered his restaurant staff his family, and he was always concerned for their well-being. Fred enjoyed golf, tropical cruises, and going to the beach. Fred was a graduate of Arlington High School, Massachusetts.

He was the brother of Steven P. Goodwin of New Jersey, Linda A. Gillen (Michael) of Ocala, Florida, Jean M. Goodwin of Hubbardton, Vermont, and William J. Goodwin (Maura) of Winchester, MA. He is also survived by 3 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 great-nieces and 1 great- nephew.

A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held on Wednesday evening, September 4, 2019 from 5 pm to 10 pm at the Bravo Bistro, 123 Empire St., Providence, RI , 02903. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
