GEORGE J. LAMOTHE

LAMOTHE, GEORGE J., 72, of West Warwick, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 surrounded by his loving wife and daughters at Kent Hospital, Warwick.  He was the beloved husband of nearly 49 years to Virginia A. (Richard) Lamothe.

Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late George and Claire (Loranger) Lamothe.

George was employed by General Dynamics Electric Boat- Groton for 37 years, retiring in 2006 as Chief Administrator of the Steel Trades. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, enjoyed golfing with his father and brother, sitting at the beach with his wife, and any occasion where the entire family gathered together. George was past officer and a lifetime member of Club Jogues, Coventry, and Past President and Past ‘Jaycee of the Year’ of the West Warwick Jaycees. 
 

Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters; Kathryn Sinniger (David), Alicia Hirscht (Patrick), and Erica Suffoletto;  two siblings, Pauline Olivier of West Warwick, and Bob Lamothe of Warwick. George was the Pépère of Rachel, Jacob, Sara, Josephine, Annabelle, Andersen, and Brogan. He was a brother-in-law of Janice Rousselle, Jocelyn MacLaughlin, and Lucille Lamothe. George was predeceased by his brother Roger Lamothe, and son-in-law Jason Suffoletto. 

His funeral will be Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:00 am from the IANNOTTI FUNERAL HOME, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 62 Pleasant St., West Warwick.  Interment to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours, Friday 4:00 - 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations in George’s name to Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, would be appreciated.
