GERALD J. DENONCOUR

DENONCOUR, Gerald J., 72, of Coventry, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 24, 2019. He was a son of the late Harvey DeNoncour and Lauretta (LaBrie) DeNoncour. Gerald was the companion of Jo Ann Stevens for 17 years.

Born in Providence, Gerald served his country in the US Navy, and then worked as a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service before retiring. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, spending time with family and friends, and was known for his annual 4th of July Cookouts. Gerald was a member of the West Warwick Elks, American Legion Post 2 West Warwick, and Phenix Sportsmen’s Club.

Gerald was the father of Matthew DeNoncour of Cambridge, MA. He was the brother of Claudette Bassett of Riverside, RI. 

His funeral will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saints John and James Parish, 20 Washington St., West Warwick. Inurnment with military honors to follow at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gerald’s honor to Operation Stand Down RI (OSDRI.org) would be appreciated.
