GILDA RITA (ORSINI) MARTINELLI

MARTINELLI, GILDA R. (ORSINI) 85, of Revere Ave., passed away at Kent Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She was the wife of Ferdinando P. “Fred” Martinelli for 62 years. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo and Teresa (Merola) Orsini.

Gilda enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling with the Tuesday Morning Glories at the Cranston Bowling Lanes, and also rooting for the Boston Bruins hockey team. 

She was the mother of Glenn J. Martinelli and his girlfriend Sandi Ward of West Greenwich, the grammy of Abrianna “Abby” Van Luven and Nicholas J. Martinelli; and the great-grammy of Braxton. Gilda was the sister of Teresa Orsini of Cranston. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters. Gilda is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a Service at 11:30 am in  the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry. Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Gilda’s family would like to thank the Staff at the Alpine Nursing Home in Coventry for the excellent care provided to Gilda these past few years.
