JONES, Helen I. (Valliere), 85, of Azalea Way, Coventry, passed away at home on Thursday, June 20, 2019. She was the wife of the late Ronal C. Jones.
Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Honore and Orpha (LaPlume) Valliere.
Helen, better known as Memere’ to all who knew her. She was a fun loving, outgoing woman who enjoyed the company of friends, but most importantly family, Her strength came from her Catholic beliefs and she never missed Sunday morning Mass. She was truly loved by all who knew her and would make each of us feel special in her own way when she pulled you aside for a little personal chat. Her giggle was contagious, her hugs were the best. Memere’ enjoyed life to the fullest, she managed to keep life in balance by keeping it full of fun and games. She easily relaxed by doing puzzles, a challenging game of scrabble or cribbage and never missed a QVC deal or a WWE event. She made a name for herself as the Family Beer Pong Champion She was the life of family parties when she lit up the dance floor and always ended the evening with her traditional tears of joy. Memere will always be in our hearts and prayers.
She is survived by four sons, William E. Jones and his wife Virginia of Merrimack, NH, Michael D. Jones and his wife Rebecca of Coventry, Daniel P. Jones and his wife Doris of Ellington, CT and Keith T. Jones and his wife Cindy of Enfield, CT; a brother, Joseph “Felix” Valliere of Warwick; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Anita Frankenfeld, Norman Valliere and Louis Valliere.
Her Funeral will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 9:30 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in SS. John & Paul Church, Coventry. Interment will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday, 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Wounded Warrior Project (WoundedWarriorProject.org) would be appreciated.
