JAMES V. FRAZIER

April 8, 1927 ~ November 2, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old


FRAZIER, James V., 90, of Coventry, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Coventry Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was the husband of 58 years to the late Ruth M. (Sheehan) Frazier. 

Born in Chattanooga, TN, he was a son of the late, Joe and Myrtle (Shaw) Frazier.

Jim served 20 years in the US Navy, retiring as a Photographer’s Mate Second Class.  He was a Navy distinguished rifle and pistol marksman and was a member of the US Atlantic Fleet Rifle and Pistol Team.  After the Navy, Jim became an auto mechanic and retired from Phil’s Mobil Service.  One of his favorite hobbies was remote control airplanes boats and cars and was a regular at Ray’s Hobby Shop in Warwick.  He also enjoyed fishing, Red Sox baseball, the New England Patriots and NASCAR.

He is survived by his children, James E. Frazier of Coventry, Patricia Filippi of West Greenwich, Joan Barret of New York, Grace Burton and her husband Raymond of Cranston and Edward J. Frazier and his wife Danielle of Coventry; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  He was a brother of the late Joe Frazier and Ruby Cole.

His Funeral Service with Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery will be private for the family.  Visiting hours respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA Hospice Care of New England, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
