JOANNE "JENNIE" (JESSE) AMARAL

AMARAL, JOANNE (JESSE) “JENNIE” 98, formerly of Sparrow Point I, Warwick, and previously of  Elmonte Drive, Coventry, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Riverview Healthcare Community. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur J. Amaral in 1988. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Furtado) Jesse.

Joanne was employed as an assembler at the former Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick for over 22 years before retiring in 1986. She later volunteered and then was employed in Housekeeping  for several years at the Coventry Health Center. Joanne had volunteered at the Coventry Senior Center for many years.  Along while raising their young family, Joanne and Arthur dedicated themselves to fostering many children. She was a life communicant and a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Anthony Church.

She was the mother of Judith Ann Carlow of West Warwick, Jacqueline L. Davis of Knoxville, TN,  Richard A. Amaral (Diane) of Warwick, Gloria Marie Leach of Miracopa, AZ, and Robert A. Amaral (Shirley) of Coventry. Joanne was the sister of John Jesse of West Warwick, and the late Jack Jesse, Ann Lynch, Virginia Lastarza, Angelina Campagone, Joseph Jesse, and Mary Jesse. Joanne is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday morning, June 25, 2019 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, West Warwick.  Interment at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hope Health Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
