JOANNE P. (Strzepek) ANGIOLILLI

ANGIOLILLI, Joanne P. “Baba” (Strzepek), 101, formerly of Pulaski St., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Scandinavian Communities Nursing Home in Cranston.  She was the wife of the late Alfred C. Angiolilli.

Joanne was born in Coventry, RI in May of 1918.  She was the daughter of two Polish immigrants, the late Francis and Pauline (Pankiewicz) Strzepek.  Despite having to have to leave school in ninth grade to care for her siblings so her parents could work, she never lost her thirst for knowledge.  She continued to this day to be a bookworm.  In 1936, Joanne met the love of her life, best friend and soulmate, Alfred.  They enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his passing in 1986.

Their greatest accomplishments were their two children, Freddy and Sharon as well as the beautiful home they built together with their own hands from the ground up.  Prior to her moving to the Scandinavian Home 3 years ago, Joanne loved trips to the mall, lunch dates with her granddaughter and trips to the casino for gambling and bingo with her brother Walter.

She is survived by her four grandchildren, Amy B. (Russi) Ng and her husband Dr. Thomas Ng of Foster, Renee (Russi) Moussally and her husband Fred of Warwick, Scott Angiolilli and his wife Mary and Todd Angiolilli and his wife Sandy, all of West Warwick; a brother, Walter Strzepek of Fall River; son-in-law Roland J. “Butch” Russi of West Warwick; sister-in-law Stasia Strzepek of West Warwick; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Sharon H. Russi and Alfred A. Angiolilli, grandmother of the late Randy J. Russi and sister of the late Theodore, Helen and Linda Strzepek, Josephine Nietupski and Anna Czyzyk.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 8:30-9:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, North Scituate.  Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory to the Scandinavian Communities Assisted Living, 50 Warwick Ave., Cranston, RI 02905 or St. Joseph Church, PO Box 236, North Scituate, RI 02857-0236 would be appreciated.
