JOANNE H. (HOOD) BUONANNO

BUONANNO, JOANNE H. (HOOD), 75, of Coventry, passed away at the Riverview Healthcare Facility, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd L. Hood and Jeanne O. (Wilde) Riel and her husband Alfred Riel.

Joanne had been a Real Estate agent for many years before retiring. She previously was a manager for Bell South Telecommunications while living in Florida.  Joanne was a distinguished artist, having painted several noteworthy collections. She attended the Rhode Island School of Design. Joanne was also a licensed pilot for small aircraft.

She was the mother of Melissa L. Asselin and Lesley L. Hayes, both of Coventry. Joanne was the sister of the late Steven Riel. She was the grandmother of Andrew Buonanno, Kayla Mauldin, Jennifer Crugnale, Stephen Hayes and Ryan Hayes. She was the great-grandmother of Italia Crugnale, Michael Crugnale, Lillian Buonanno and Lucas Mauldin.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening, November 28, 2018 from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Memorial Service at 7:00 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association ( www.alz.org) would be appreciated.
