MOORE, JOHN C. 85, of Coventry, RI passed away peacefully at Kent Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was the husband of Beverly (Petrangelo) Moore. Born in Hurt, Virginia, he was a son of the late John W. and Gracie M. (Gross) Moore.
John served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, John became a designer at the former Imperial Knife in Providence. John was later employed by the former Kunzmann Chain Company in Warwick for over 40 years as a toolmaker before retiring as the Vice President of Manufacturing. Following his retirement, he was a consultant for Armburst International in Providence. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John was predeceased by his daughter Debra Ross. He was the father of Kimberly Plant of Coventry and Edward Payne and his wife Lisa of Smithfield. John was the grandfather of Mackenzie Ross, Jared Payne and Matthew Payne. John was the brother of William Moore, Anne Valley, Patricia Brauer, Helen Cocke, Frank Moore, and the late Brenda Sue Moore, Jane Bragg, Merilyn Goodson, Kathleen Roberts, Dallas Moore and Aubry Moore.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning, April 13, 2019 from 8:30 -10:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117)Coventry, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Inurnment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory to The Autism Project of RI for Team Jared Payne ( https://www.classy.org/team/222165 ) would be appreciated.
