JOSEPH JAMES TOWNSEND

TOWNSEND, JOSEPH J. “JOE”, 57, of Airport Rd., Coventry, passed away at the Philip Hulitar Hospice in Providence, with his wife Mary I. (Mirto) Townsend and his daughter Ashley by his side, on Friday, December 27, 2019. The couple have been married for 10 years. Born in Providence, RI on November 24, 1962,  he was a son of the late Robert and Josephine (Kulas) Townsend.

Joseph had been employed as a fabricator for over 25 years at the American Welding Company.

He enjoyed fishing and watching the N.E. Patriots.

He was the father of Joseph Townsend of CT, Ashley M. Townsend of Boston, MA, and Bryan M. Mirto of Coventry.  Joseph was the brother of Daniel Townsend of West Greenwich, Ronald Townsend of Oklahoma, and the late Robert Townsend and Lynn Townsend. Joseph is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday evening, December 30, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm with a Memorial Service at 6:30 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry.
