MEDEIROS, KATHY P. (Polos) 63, of Patnode Ave., Hope, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, March 7, 2019. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to John P. Medeiros. Born in Limestone, Maine, at Loring Air Force Base, she was a daughter of Paul and Gertrude (Moreau) Polos.
Kathy worked for many years as a bench operator at Leviton Manufacturing and Cherry Semiconductor. She also worked in the nursing field, where she shined as a caregiver, and Kathy always stayed busy running “Mom’s Taxi”. Even in her illness, family was always at the center of Kathy’s life. Kathy was selfless in her caring, was an amazing grandmother, and was simply good to everybody.
Kathy is survived by her two sons, Jay Medeiros and his wife Tracy, and Matthew Medeiros and his wife Theresa. She was the sister of Paul Polos, Charles Romano, Fred Shadeck, Diane Worthington, John Dionne, and the late Brenda Polos. Her grandchildren; Trinadee, Mia, Jacob, and Johnathan Medeiros as well as many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 8:45 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, West Warwick. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 pm - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Kathy’s honor to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) would be appreciated.
