MAZZOCCHI, Lawrence C. “Larry”, 74, of Hope Valley, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Mary H. (Lavallee) Mazzocchi.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Louis and Josephine (Pafume) Mazzocchi.
Larry served in the Marine Corps and then was a courier at Federal Express for many years before retiring. He was a hardworking man who loved his family and his faith. He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus and enjoyed gardening.
Besides his wife, he leaves his loving grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandra Wilson who lived with him for 14 years, Jamie Heffernan and her husband Michael Martinelli of Hampton, VA and Jordan Smith of North Providence; a great-granddaughter Aubrey Heffernan; his brother-in-law Dennis Cooney of Warwick and his loving pug Peggy. He was the brother of the late Joanne Cooney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 10:00 am in SS. John & Paul Church, Coventry. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s name to SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry, RI 02816 would be appreciated.
