LENA MARY (LEPORE) LEANDER

LEANDER, LENA M. (LEPORE), 87, of Harding Street, West Warwick, passed away at the Riverview Healthcare Community, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 2, 2017. She was the wife of the late James Leander Sr.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Catherina (DeCesare) Lepore.

Lena was a homemaker caring for her husband and family for many years. Before her illness, Lena enjoyed volunteering at the West Warwick Senior Center.

She was the mother of Sandra L. Beauchaine and her husband Raymond of Coventry, James Leander Jr. and his wife Claire of Warwick, and Joseph L. Leander and his wife Debra of West Warwick. Lena was the grandmother of Steven M. Beauchaine, Dawn K. Afonso, Kathleen Leander-Nash, Robert Leander and Meghan M. McLaurin. Lena is also survived five great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Vincent Lepore.

Her Funeral will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10:30 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in Saint Anthony’s Church, 1 Sunset Ave., West Warwick, RI, 02893.  Interment in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry.  Visiting hours are Sunday 4 - 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Kindred Hospice, 2374 Post Rd., Ste.206, Warwick, RI 02886 ( www.kindredhealthcare.com ) or St. Anthony’s Church will be appreciated.
