MARY ANN (GUARINO) SAUNDERS

SAUNDERS, MARY ANN (GUARINO), 75, of Bailey Drive, West Greenwich, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at the Riverview Healthcare Community, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. She was the companion of Vincent Giandolfi. Mary Ann was the wife of the late John Saunders and the late John Paul Bodge Sr. Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Lorenzo “Larry” and Josephine Katherine (Luiz) Guarino.

Mary Ann, a gifted artist, painter, and florist, studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.

She was a floral designer and a proprietor of a successful flower shop operating for many years in Charlestown, West Virginia. She also enjoyed creating many beautiful arts and crafts.

She was the mother of John Paul Bodge Jr., Katherine F. Scott, Paula M. Guarino and her husband Steven Palin, and Mark Bodge. Mary Ann was the grandmother of Nishan Bodge, Thomas D. Bossone  IV, Krystine Bossone, David Landi and Dustin Landi. She was the great-grandmother of David Jr., Anthony, Charlotte, and Vinny. Mary Ann was the sister of Marco Guarino.

Visiting hours will be Sunday afternoon, November 24, 2019 from 1 – 3 pm with a Memorial Service at 3 pm in the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd., (Rte.3) Coventry. A Memorial Reception will follow at the Cowesett Inn, 226 Cowesett Avenue, (Rte. 3) West Warwick, RI.
