MICHAEL O'BRIEN Obituary

O’BRIEN, Michael T., 61 of Wakefield St., West Warwick, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.            

Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Thomas W. O’Brien and Louise J. (Lavallee) O’Brien. 

Michael graduated from West Warwick Senior High School in 1976. He later joined the US Army where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant during his 14 years and 5 months of service. While serving he received the Army Service Ribbon, Oversees Service Ribbon (2), National Defense Service Metal, Army Good Conduct Medal (4), Driver and Mechanic Badge and Officer Professional Development Ribbon (3). Michael had many hobbies which included following the Red Sox, playing softball and bowling. He also enjoyed watching Sunday football with Paul Bettez and was an avid movie watcher with Jack Grantham.  He loved seeing his children and grandchildren.  

He is survived by his ex-wife Robin Ablett of Leominster, Ma, and his four children, Justin C. O’Brien and his wife Kristen of Greenville, NH, Brandy L. Booty and her husband Lance in Forest Grove, OR,   Michael-Paul O’Brien and his wife Katie of Ashburnham, MA, and Tabitha L. O’Brien of Leominster, MA, and 11 grandchildren. He was a brother to the late Francis R. “Franky” O’Brien.

His Committal Service and Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 301 South County Trail, Exeter, Rhode Island 02822 will be held Saturday Nov. 30, 2019 at 10:00 am.  Relatives and friends may gather in front of the Administration Buildings at 10:00 am and we will proceed to the Columbarium for Services
