COLLARD SR., RAYMOND A., 85, of Washington Street, Coventry, passed at the West View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 7, 2018. He was the husband of Agnes L. (Bouchard) Collard for 67 years. A lifelong resident of Coventry, Raymond was a son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Hebert) Collard.
Raymond was employed as an automobile technician for over 60 years starting with the former Warwick Ford, Paul Bailey’s Ford and now with the Flood Ford Dealership before retiring in 2017. Raymond’s many years of experience and dedication to the Dealership will surely be missed. Raymond was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
Raymond enjoyed playing baseball, softball and bowling. He once participated on the former “Duckpins for Dollars” Television game show.
He was the father of Marie L. Leandro and her husband Kevin, Gail M. Gadoury and her husband James, all of Coventry, and the late Raymond A. Collard Jr. He was the grandfather of Michele Jones, Mathew Collard, Jennifer Gadoury, Stacey Arsenault, Nicholas Leandro, Jonathon Leandro and Richard Gadoury.
He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. Raymond was the brother of Armand Collard of Kentucky and the late Leo Collard, Rose Miller and Blanche Violet Menard.
His Funeral will be Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Vincent de Paul Church, Coventry. Interment with military honors in the R I Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4 - 7 pm.
