RITA A. (Hamel) MAILLOUX

MAILLOUX, Rita A. (Hamel) 93, of Harvest Drive, Coventry, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Riverview Health Care.  She was the beloved wife of the late Reginald A. Mailloux for 59 years. 

Born in Woonsocket, RI on April 26, 1925, Rita was the daughter of the late Roland and Cora (Bergeron) Hamel. 

Rita was a graduate of West Warwick High School and was a billing clerk for Davidson Brothers before staying home to raise her family.  She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Ladies Guild, AARP, and the Golden Ages.  Prior to that, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and taught ceramic classes.  However, her greatest love was her family. 

Rita is survived by her loving children, Richard (Patricia E.), Ronald (Patricia A.), Jacqueline Grant and Susan DeResta (Joseph), all of Coventry; a brother, Rene Hamel of Coventry, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Jeannette Tellier.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 9:15 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street, (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Coventry.  Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 4-7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI, 1085 North Main Street, Providence RI 02904 would be appreciated.
