ROBERT M. "BOB" MESSIER

MESSIER, ROBERT M., “Bob” 77, of Glenn Dr., West Warwick, passed unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. He was the husband of Theresa R. (Santangelo) Messier. The couple would have celebrated their 59^th Wedding Anniversary on October 17, 2018.  Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Romeo and Virginia (Simas) Messier.

Robert was the President of American Bakery Supply, Inc. for 26 years before retiring in 2014. Robert is the Chairman of the Town of West Warwick Zoning Board, a member of the West Warwick Democratic Town Committee, a past member of the Town of West Warwick Planning Board, a member and Past President of the West Warwick Lion’s Club and a past member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club.

He was the father of Robert M. Messier Jr. (Lisa) and Bryan Messier (Kim). Grandfather of Adam, Kourtney, Haley, Brooke, and Maia Messier, and great-grandfather of Alan Gaumond. Robert was the brother of the late Romeo Messier Jr., Anthony Messier, Albert Messier and Lorraine “Patty“ Schmidt.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 9:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Ave., West Warwick.  Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in  the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the RI Special Olympics would be appreciated. ( https://specialolympicsri.org )
