PLOUFFE, ROBERT P. (PNCS US Navy, Ret.) 86, of Dunnellon, Florida and formerly of Coventry, passed away at the Brentwood Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, August 3, 2018.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Victoria (Fischer-Rywacki) Plouffe in 2008. Born in Coventry, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Nellie (Arcand) Plouffe.
Robert, a Senior Chief Petty Officer, served during the Korean War, in the Bay of Pigs / Cuban Missile Crisis and also, the Vietnam War. Robert later was an HR Manager at the former Coppercraft Guild, Healthtex, Speidel, and Holiday Products. Robert had served on the Coventry Town Council and for many of those years as president of the Council. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
He was the father of Kathleen A. Greene and her husband Douglas of Greer, SC, Theresa L. Bullock and her husband Michael of Exeter, John L. Plouffe and his wife Bonnie of Aiken, SC, Robert P. Plouffe Jr. of Foster, and Edward A. Plouffe and his wife Susan of Coventry. Robert was the brother of Normand Plouffe and George Plouffe, both of Dunnellon, Florida and the late Leo Plouffe, Rita Lucier and Claire Lucier. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
His Funeral will be Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Czenstochowa Church. Interment with military honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday 3:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Foundation would be appreciated.
