MEDEIROS, ROSE MARIE (PETRARCA) 99, of West Warwick, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, October 25, 2019. Born in Coventry, Rose was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Dominica (DiCarlo) Petrarca. She was the wife of the late Joseph Medeiros.
She was a one of a kind angel of a mom. Rose was a God gifted self-taught expert seamstress, who could perform miracles with needle and thread. She taught herself cooking at an early age and could make any ethnic meal; give her a recipe and she would make it better than anyone.
Rose was a Bingo enthusiast who played at Senior Centers and Foxwoods. She donated generously to Big Sisters of R.I. She was old school tough, but kind, loving, caring and giving to her family and her many friends. Plainly put, a wonderful person. Anyone who knew her loved her, and Heaven will be lucky to have her there.
The mold was broken when God created her. She lived to 99 1/2 , the longest living member of our family. She is survived by her sons; Joseph Medeiros Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL., and Ronald D. Medeiros of West Warwick, her caregiver with whom she lived. She is also survived by her Brother Edward “Amidee” Petrarca of Redondo Beach, CA, and Grandson, Michael, of Coventry. She was predeceased by her siblings Anthony “Tony”, Adolph “Soupie”, Albert “Watson”, and Joseph “Jesse” Petrarca, and Mildred “Millie” Caldarone.
Rose’s family would like to thank Hospice V.N.A. and Renee at Riverview Healthcare.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte. 117), Coventry, with a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Warwick.
