STANLEY PETER MALIKOWSKI

MALIKOWSKI, STANLEY P, 98, of Hill Farm Rd., passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Doris Y. (Caron) Malikowski for 69 years. A lifelong resident of Coventry, he was a son of the late Felix and Martha (Kowalski) Malikowski.

 

Stanley graduated from Coventry High School in 1937. He was a US Navy Submarine Chief in World War II, and went on to serve as a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Army in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his honorable discharge, in 1966 he became a lab technician at Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI until retiring in April of 1984. Stanley was very active in sports, and especially enjoyed playing golf in his later years.

 

He was the father of Gary F. Malikowski (Ret. Chief WGPD) of West Greenwich. The grandfather of Danielle, Matthew, Daniel and the late Alicia Malikowski. He was the great-grandfather of Ashlyn, Gabrielle, Alexzander, Madalyne, and soon to be expected, Harrison. He was the brother of Bernadine Kirchmeyer of North Smithfield, and the late Rudolph, Thaddeus, Joseph Malikowski, Dorothy Bochenek, and Blandine Chrupcala. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

 

His Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:00 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry. Interment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,TN 38105-9959 will be appreciated.  Arrangements by IANNOTTI Funeral Home, Coventry.
