QUARTO, THOMAS H., of Shore Road, Westerly and Singer Island, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Watch Hill Nursing Home. Tom, or TQ as often lovingly referred to by close friends, was born on February 21, 1936 in Providence and was the son of the late John and Celestina (Raduano) Quarto. He graduated from Central High School and went into the Army at the end of the Korean War and spent his service time in Germany. Following the service, TQ became an electrician with Local Union IBEW 99 where he was a superintendent, foreman, treasurer and member of the health and wellness and annuity and pension boards. Through the years, he and his late wife, Anna C. (Santilli) Quarto (2017) were real estate brokers and he had his own electrical supply business.
Thomas was the devoted father of Celeste Santilli (Phil Clarke) and beloved grandfather of Zachary Santilli. He also leaves behind a brother Gaetano Quarto (Barbara), niece Rhonda Way, cousins Salvatore and Cathy Carro, Anthony, Tony, Tommy, Peter and Rita Santilli and best friend Estelle Lupo.
Besides his love of work, business, family and friends, Tom also loved cars, especially the Corvettes he owned throughout the years. Florida was also part of his heart and soul.
His funeral will be Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church. Interment with military honors at St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours are Monday evening 4 – 7 pm.
