VERA (MONIZ) ALVERNAZ

ALVERNAZ, VERA (MONIZ) 87, of Angell St., West Warwick, passed surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Kent Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Henry A. Alvernaz in 2005. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Laura (Sylvia) Moniz. 

Vera was employed in the textile industry, but mostly, she enjoyed homemaking and caring for her family.

She was the mother of Henry A. Alvernaz, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Mary Jane Alvernaz of West Warwick, James Alvernaz and wife Joyce, of Barrington, and Pamela Miller and husband Scott of San Diego, CA.

Vera was the grandmother of 10; great- grandmother of 2. Vera was the sister of Margaret Cadete of West Warwick, and the late Manuel Moniz, Joseph Moniz, Mary Lawrence and Frances Brown.

Her Funeral will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 9:00 am from the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church. Interment in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Visiting hours are Tuesday 4 - 7 pm.
