MCGONIGLE, WILLIAM J., 84, of Titusville, Florida and formerly of Rhode Island, passed at home on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was the husband of Rebecca Lithicum. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Joseph and Alice (Almeida) McGonigle.
William was a jewelry designer for many years. He owned and operated the former Superior Sales and G. Mac Creations. He also owned and operated the former Fountain Royale soda fountain in Providence. Along with his artistic and creative ability in jewelry design, he also enjoyed working with stained glass.
William was an avid golfer and he also enjoyed music and singing.
He was the father of Michael S. McGonigle of West Warwick, Julie A. McGonigle of West Warwick, Sherry A. McGonigle and her husband Edward Farias of Coventry, and Tammy A. McGonigle of West Warwick. He was the grandfather of Edward W. Farias (PFD), Ryan M. McGonigle (PFD), Sean M. McGonigle, and Kerrie O’Neil. He was the brother of the late Robert McGonigle, Helen Glanville, Marion Sherman, Joan Chadwick and Dolores DeLauro. He is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 18, 2018 from 8:00 am to 9:30 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte. 117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saints John & Paul Church. Interment with military honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
