ADELAIDE "DELLA" MARSOCCI

MARSOCCI, ADELAIDE C. “Della”, 104, of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Apple Rehabilitation Clipper, Westerly. She was the beloved wife of the late Massimino “Mac” Marsocci.

Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Amelia (Pinto) Petrella.

In 1942, Della graduated from the Providence College of Pharmacy, now known as the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, where she was one of the first women to earn their Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacology. Together with her husband Mac, they owned and operated Mars Pharmacy on Washington Street in Coventry, Rhode Island. 

After many successful years and wonderful memories, and also having survived a violent armed robbery in the late 1970s, Della joined her husband in retirement, closing the pharmacy in 1980. In retirement, Della enjoyed traveling near or far, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Della is survived by her loving children, Donna Saulino (Alfred), of Jamestown, RI, and Roni Trammell (Rick Johnson), of Narragansett, RI; grandchildren, Matthew Saulino (Nadia) and Tanya Morrison (Keith); great grandchildren, Andrew, Michael, Melanie Morrison, Matthew and Daniel Saulino. She was the sister of the late Elizabeth Pettinicchio and Biagio Petrella. 

Family and friends are invited to Della’s Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 18, 2023  at 10:00 AM in Saint Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St Vincent de Paul St., Coventry. Inurnment to follow at  the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Family will greet family and friends prior to the mass. Arrangements by Iannotti Funeral Home.
