AMOS DOLPHI Obituary

DOLPHI, AMOS L. 82, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of his devoted family, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was the dear husband for 39 wonderful years to the love of his life, Angela (Urshulo) Dolphi, who passed away in 2006.

Born in Providence, on January 5, 1940, Amos was the only child born to the late Amos and Beatrice (Tommenello) Dolphi.

Amos grew up in West Warwick, and was a proud graduate of La Salle Academy in Providence. Following high school, he continued his education by enrolling and graduating from Providence College.

For many years, Amos worked at Electric Boat. He was well respected by his colleagues for his willingness to help,  work ethic, and commitment to his job.

In his spare time, Amos had a wide variety of hobbies and interests. He liked spending days relaxing at the beach, enjoying the ocean and sun. He was a proud homeowner, who took great care of his lawn. A man who had a great intellect, Amos had the ability to transfer his thoughts to paper, creating wonderful works of poetry. Utmost, Amos was a true family man, where he loved nothing more than spending time and making memories with his daughter, granddaughter, and family.

Amos was the devoted father to Angela Bernardo, and her fiance, Robert Gasbarro, of Hope, RI. He is survived by his beloved granddaughter, Gianna Bernardo, and his companion of eleven years, Elaine Browning.

Amos’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 854 Providence St., West Warwick. Attendees will have the opportunity to greet the family beginning at 9:30 AM in the church. Burial will follow at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry, where Amos will be laid to rest with his late wife.
