Anita Marie Silveira (Gonsalves), 66, of Coventry, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Providence, Anita was the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor (Tavares) Gonsalves. A true people person, she had a gift for making others feel seen and welcome. She brought that warmth to her work in cosmetics—a field she genuinely loved—and to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Anita found joy in the things that bring people together—especially Christmas, when her love of tradition and family shined brightest. She loved music, especially the way it could bring people together and make a house feel like home. Above all, Anita cherished the bonds that family creates, and she nurtured those connections with presence, warmth, and heart.
Anita is survived by her sons, Harry James Ostrowsky and his partner, Christopher Halliburton, of Providence, and David Silveira of Warwick; her brother, Manny Andrade of Exeter; and her nieces, Dawn, Gina, and Lisa. She is also survived by her beloved feline companion, Zelda.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, from 9:00–11:00 AM at Iannotti Funeral Home at Maple Root, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Road (Route 3), Coventry, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial with committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich.
