AUGUST REINHARDT Obituary

REINHARDT, AUGUST A., 75, of Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He leaves his wife of 52 years Lorraine H. (Hahn) Reinhardt. Originally from Hicksville, Long Island, he was a son of the late Noel and Martha (Fippinger) Reinhardt.


After graduating from high school, August earned a Bachelor's Degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Then served in the United States Coast Guard as an engineman first class, during the Vietnam War. He went on to a dedicated career as a mechanical engineer with Stanley-Bostitch in East Greenwich for over 25 years. August enjoyed the adventures he had and people he met traveling the country with his wife in their Airstream, participating in and watching all sports, and spending time with his three grandchildren.


He leaves two daughters Lori M. Reinhardt and her husband Arthur Matile, and Renee Reinhardt and partner Brian Bliss. He was the grandfather of Maya, Sabrina and Steven. August was the brother of Michael Reinhardt and the late Noel and Edward Reinhardt.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11 am in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry, followed by inurnment with military honors at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. Arrangements are with the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT in Coventry. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to The Cancer Research Institute, would be appreciated. iannottifh.com
