BARBARA E. BOUCHER

BOUCHER, BARBARA ELAINE, 92, formerly of Coventry, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at the Saint Elizabeth Home, East Greenwich. She was the beloved wife of Andrew L. “Andy the Barber” Boucher, who predeceased her in 2003.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Costigan) Johnston.  

Barbara was a class of 1948 graduate of Cranston East High School. She spent her career as a Medical Transcriptionist in the Medical Records Department of Kent Hospital, Warwick. She will be remembered for her quick and feisty wit, her love of reading, and her love for her pet dogs, especially her Cocker Spaniel “Bridgette”. 

She was the loving mother of Andrea Boucher Brown, her late husband Chris, of Hope Valley, Mark A. Boucher of North Kingstown, Jacqueline Schofield, her husband Daniel, of Coventry, and the late Michelle D. Boucher; grandmother of 2, great grandmother of 1. Barbara was also the sister of the late William D. Johnston. Barbara’s family would also like to graciously thank the outstanding staff of the St. Elizabeth Green Houses, Home #15, East Greenwich, RI, for their caring support and professionalism throughout the past years.  

Barbara’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Saints John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry, RI. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wauregan, CT, will be private. Prior to Barbara’s Mass of Christian Burial, visiting hours will be held from 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (RTE 117), Coventry. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Barbara’s memory to the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.RISPCA.org) would be appreciated.
