B. DOROTHEE ST. SAUVEUR Obituary

WEST WARWICK- B. Dorothee St. Sauveur, 94, lifelong resident of West Warwick, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, October 12, 2021, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of her family. She was the devoted wife to her best friend and the love of her life, Normand J. St. Sauveur, who she spent 65 years of wonderful marriage with until his passing in 2013.

Born on April 17, 1927, in West Warwick, she was the eldest of four children born to the late Antonio and Clara (Robert) Heroux. She was raised in West Warwick, attended Notre Dame Parochial School, and graduated from West Warwick High School as a member of the Class of 1945.

After high school, Dorothee worked as a Telephone Operator at Valley Exchange. After her husband, Normand, returned from serving in the US Navy, he and Dorothee married on April 17, 1948 at Notre Dame Church, Phenix.  Dorothee and Normand initially settled for a short time in Phenix, but they eventually moved to Centreville, where they raised their family.

After spending time raising her two sons, Dorothee began working again at Leviton, where she assisted in the manufacturing of electrical products. After working at Leviton for 10 years, Dorothee then became employed as a Deli Clerk at Roch’s Market. She truly enjoyed her time working behind the deli counter, where she often looked forward to helping and chatting with the regulars. After 10 years of working at Roch’s, Dorothee and her husband both well deservingly retired at the same time in 1988.

A devout Catholic, Dorothee was a longtime parishioner at Christ the King Church in West Warwick. In her spare time, Dorothee enjoyed knitting with her knitting club, crossword puzzles, and exercising at the YMCA. She will be remembered for her caring demeanor and her willingness to help anyone in need.

Dorothee is survived by her two sons: Ronald St. Sauveur and his wife Susan of Richmond and Jerome St. Sauveur and his wife Karen of West Warwick; her grandchildren: Geoffrey St. Sauveur, Kristopher St. Sauveur, Aaron St. Sauveur, and Corey St. Sauveur; her step-grandchildren: Matthew and Leah; her 8 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren; her siblings: Gerard Heroux, Lucille Briggs, and Estelle Blais; and also, many extended family members and church friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothee is predeceased by her baby daughter: Eileen St. Sauveur.
