BERNICE F. (Howard) MALES

MALES, Bernice F. “Babe” (Howard), 73, of Tower Rd., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia.  She was the wife of the late Robert F. Males.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Francis E. and Bernice (Warman) Howard.

Babe loved spending time with family and friends, reading books by Danielle Steel, cooking, decorating, singing and country music.  She loved karaoke and singing during family gatherings, especially Christmas, which was her favorite time of year.

She was employed at Custom Design as a supervisor for 20 years.  After retiring, she and her late husband Robert opened Diggy’s Restaurant in West Warwick for 2 years.

She loved her pets and opened her home to anyone in need.  She was funny and witty.  She was the most loyal mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend and was loved by everyone who knew her.  We were truly blessed to have Babe in our lives! 

She is survived by her children, JoAnn Gilo and her husband Dave, Rhonda Pennine and her husband Paul and Robin L. Bingham and her husband Bob, all of West Warwick; 8 siblings, Rose Giampietro, Diane Hammond, Sharon Czerwien, Frank Howard and his wife Ester, John Howard and his wife Lori, Fred Howard, James Howard and Robert Howard; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Stephen B. Coffey, Jr. and sister of the late Elaine Colafrancesco.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 21, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.117), Coventry.  Her funeral service and burial will be private for the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernice’s name to the VNA of Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 would be appreciated.
