SIMMONS, BRIAN A., 69, of Coventry, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family at home on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was the loving husband of 45 years to Mary (McGovern) Simmons.
Born in Warwick, Brian was a son of the late Donald and Pauline (Derouin) Simmons.
After graduating from Coventry High School, Brian went on to work at Electric Boat. As skilled machinists, Brian, along with his late brother Steven, went on to own and operate Simmons Tool & Engineering. He was then employed at the former KMC Inc., West Greenwich, and retired from Maxson Automatic Machinery Company. A lifelong firearms enthusiast, Brian was a member of the South County Rod & Gun Club, Manville Sportsmens Rod & Gun Club, and Providence Revolver. He enjoyed trips up north skiing and riding jet skis, whether on the bay or on Johnson’s Pond.
Brian was the loving father of Mark Simmons, his wife Danielle, of West Warwick, Thomas Simmons, his wife Alicia, of Coventry. Loving grandfather of James, Connor, Brayden, and Amelia. Brian was the brother of Judith Gagnon of West Warwick, Jean Simmons of West Warwick, Bonnie Shon and her husband Sam, of Huntington Beach, CA, and the late Steven Simmons and Paulette Whitman.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington Street (ROUTE 117), Coventry.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church, 1 Sunset Ave., West Warwick. Burial is respectfully private.
