BRUCE E. GETCHELL

GETCHELL, BRUCE E., 72, of Peach Tree Lane, Coventry, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was the husband of Nancy E. (Dunn) Getchell for 38 years. Born in New Bedford, MA, he was a son of the late Elbridge “Tiny” and Margaret (Teser) Getchell.

Bruce was the founder of Applitek Technologies Corporation of Providence, a manufacturing company that makes quality wire processing equipment. Bruce established Applitek in 1989. Bruce was a skilled saltwater fisherman, and was a member of the RI Saltwater Anglers Association. Bruce and Nancy enjoyed traveling to New Hampshire and riding ATV’s for many years, but mostly he loved to spend time with his family.

He was the father of Adam J. Getchell and his wife Christy of West Warwick, Alex E. Getchell and his companion Kayla of Coventry, and Melanie Getchell and her companion Andrew Aughinbaugh of Connecticut. Bruce is also survived by his grandchildren Cameron Getchell, Madeline Houle, and Chloe Aughinbaugh. He was the brother of Butch Getchell and his wife Peggy of Exeter.

Visiting hours will be on a Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a Memorial Service at 12:30 PM at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd.
