HARRIS, JR., BRUCE E., 61, of Coventry passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, November 8th, 2022 after a long battle with Esophageal Cancer. He fought his illness with amazing fortitude until the end.
Bruce was the son of Margaret and the late Bruce Harris Sr. born on September 18, 1961. He grew up in Hope and spent his childhood and much of his adulthood camping at Echo Lake Campground in Pascoag. Bruce was a graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School in 1979. Upon graduating, Bruce began working at Amtrol, Inc. in West Warwick. He was a Senior Engineering Technician and a dedicated employee for 43 years; he was respected for his aptitude and work ethic.
Bruce’s greatest source of pride and motivation in his life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed holidays, family traditions, road trips and traveling, riding his motorcycle, cars, food, music, movies, sports, the outdoors and spending time with his dogs Memphis and Dallas. He was capable, dependable and always a guidepost for the people in his life. Bruce is survived by his loving wife Anne Harris; children Jessica Ramey and her husband Jack Ramey II, Jamie Harris and her partner Corey Pfantz, Jade Harris, Stephanie Sirignano, Justin Hodde and his wife Kelsy Hodde; grandchildren Jack III, Jacob and Julia Ramey and Mila Sirignano; mother Margaret “Peggy” Harris; sisters Cheryl Palmieri and Carlene Harris; niece Jocelyn Palmieri; great nephew Aiden Palmieri; Anne’s parents Manuel and Fernanda Couto and many other beloved family and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2022 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with services to follow at the Iannotti Funeral Home at MAPLE ROOT, 2000 Nooseneck Hill Rd. (Rte.3) Coventry. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directly donated to New England Lab Rescue at https://www.newenglandlabrescue.com/memorial-donations.
